Principal Consultant - Technology 🇦🇺

Our developers become trusted advisors to our clients, working alongside other client stakeholders to ensure delivery and technical excellence. As a Fabric Principal Consultant, you will lead by example and work hands-on alongside your teammates on delivery - as well as providing high-level guidance and advice to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
Technology Strategy and Solution Design
Lead the development of technology strategies for clients, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term goals.
Architect and design robust, scalable, and secure technology solutions for enterprise-level challenges, including cloud computing, data management, and system integration.
Provide thought leadership on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices, helping clients stay ahead in their industries.
Collaborate with senior stakeholders to identify business challenges and translate them into innovative, value-driven technical solutions.
Facilitate and guide all technical aspects of discovery workshops, ensuring cohesive solutions that align with strategic objectives.
Technical Leadership and Delivery
Oversee the successful delivery of large-scale, strategic technology initiatives, ensuring quality, timeliness, and adherence to budget.
Lead the technical implementation of projects and provide expert guidance on architecture, performance, security, and scalability to resolve complex technical issues.
Ensure technical solutions align with client strategies, industry standards, and business goals.
Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior client stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and point of contact for technical strategy and innovation.
Drive client satisfaction by addressing long-term goals and challenges, proactively identifying opportunities to optimise their technology ecosystems.
Present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear, actionable manner.
Team Leadership and Mentorship
Lead and mentor a team of consultants and developers, providing guidance on technical best practices, architecture, and development methodologies.
Foster a collaborative environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the team.
Provide hands-on coaching and development opportunities to junior team members, helping them grow their technical expertise.
Take an active role in hiring and building a high-performing technology consulting team.
Business Development and Pre-Sales Support
Collaborate with the sales and business development teams to identify new opportunities for technology consulting engagements.
Lead pre-sales activities, including solution scoping, proposals, and technical presentations for potential clients.
Articulate the value of advanced technology solutions in proposals, aligning with client needs and strategic goals.
Support the development of thought leadership content, white papers, case studies, and other assets to promote the firm’s capabilities.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Stay ahead of the curve with the latest trends and methodologies in technology consulting.
Foster a culture of innovation by exploring and promoting new technologies and techniques that drive client success.
Actively contribute to internal initiatives aimed at improving consulting practices, delivery models, and technical capabilities.
The skills you would need to be a Principal Consultant-Technology:
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in technology consulting or technical leadership roles, with a strong track record of successful solution delivery.
Proven expertise in designing and implementing complex technology solutions in areas such as cloud, enterprise architecture, data platforms, software engineering, or digital transformation.
Experience leading technical teams and managing large, cross-functional projects.
Technical Expertise:
Being an expert in one or more coding languages (Java/Kotlin, Python, Spring Boot, .Net, Node.js, C#, React, CSS, Javascript, Typescript, SQL, etc.) and being comfortable with learning a new language/technology required for a new client project.
Deep understanding of modern technologies such as cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), DevOps practices, enterprise software, data analytics, and machine learning.
Strong experience with software development frameworks, integration platforms, and architecture design patterns.
Expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and IT governance processes.
Leadership:
Strong leadership skills with experience in mentoring and guiding technical teams.
Ability to manage client relationships, communicate effectively with senior executives, and present complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Proven ability to influence decision-making and drive change within organisations.
Skills:
Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality technical documentation and reports.
Proficiency in project management methodologies and relevant tools.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
